To increase the visibility and outreach of the ministry to more effectively serve
the community through education
awareness and ongoing support.
The Beaufort Women's Center (BWC),
formerly the Crisis Pregnancy Center of
Beaufort, is a non-profit organization
supported by local churches, businesses
and individuals, along with
three major fundraisers each year.
BWC provides free and confidential
pregnancy support services to its clients.
Led by various boards of directors
through the years and staffed mostly
by a director and trained volunteers,
BWC has provided services to nearly
8,000 women and girls from all socioeconomic,
racial, ethnic and educational
backgrounds; including those
who are single, married, separated and
divorced.
Currently, BWC is led by eight board
members and is staffed by both a fulltime
paid director and a paid administrative
assistant. Seven regular volunteers,
mostly peer counselors, are available
to counsel those who are pregnant,
considering an abortion, or who
have had previous abortions. They
counsel and educate their clients, depending
on the need. |
