About Us

The Beaufort Women's Center (BWC), formerly the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Beaufort, is a non-profit, faith-based community organization supported by local churches, businesses, individuals and non-federal grants. BWC provides free and confidential pregnancy support services and education to its clients.

Led by various boards of directors through the years staffed mostly by a director and trained volunteers, BWC has provided services to over 8,000 women and girls from all socio-economic, racial, ethnic and educational backgrounds; including those who are single, married, separated and divorced.

Currently, the BWC is staffed by a paid full-time director and part-time office administrator, client services director, nurse manager and P.A.C.E. (Post-Abortion Client Education) director. Regular volunteers, serving as peer counselors, receptionists and parenting instructors, are available for our clients who are pregnant, considering abortion, or are post-abortion.

The client may be struggling with an unhappy marriage or a broken relationship. She may be a teenager who feels that she is too young to be a mother. She may be facing disrupted educational or career plans, job loss, or new financial pressures. Her family and friends may be threatening to abandon her if she carries her pregnancy to term. She is often racked with fear, guilt, confusion and intense pressure to “solve” her problems through abortion. She and her unborn baby are in desperate need of God’s love and our support.

The Beaufort Women’s Center is a pregnancy care medical clinic that seeks to provide a place of refuge to women experiencing crisis pregnancies. Our services are offered confidentially and free of charge to women and girls who request them, regardless of age, race, religion, or marital status.
